Ruth Sheets Adult Care Center

sheets center 1The Ruth Sheets Center is a safe place for older adults that do not need full-time admission into a nursing or rest home and they are in need of assistance with their house chores and daily activities, and then Ruth Sheets Center is the best choice for them. We provide a safe and friendly environment permitting family members to work or take relief from their caregiving duties, and we can meet both long and short-term care needs. We ensure a friendly and safe environment for our clients, allowing the family members to work or take relief from their duties of caregiving, and we have available both long term and short term caregivers. We give supervision, social interaction with others, activities, snacks and nutritious meals. Involving in such a stimulating environment during the day has been discovered by families to result in better rest at night for the participants’. To optimize participants’ care, we included assessments and routine monitoring of important signs, and we ensure communications with other professional in the field of health care such as doctors, therapist’s physicians and social workers. The Sheets Center opens from Monday to Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and the location is in downtown Raleigh inside Edenton Street United Methodist Church. Ways to encourage participants

Attending adult daycare regularly as a new participant might be a bit difficult, but as soon as it has become their routine they begin to find pleasure in coming. Some of the ways our families have been successfully convincing their loved one to be a part of adult day care are listed below:

  • It provides security and safety at the center, which is not certain if they are home alone all day.
  • It gives a platform to assist others who may need their help.
  • It provides an occasion for one to spend quality time with others, and even a excellent way to be free from their caregiver.
  • It’s an opportunity to have fun and involve in activities, such as puzzles, checkers, art, crafts, trivia, music, etc.
