Triangle J Area Agency on Aging
The federal Older Americans Act of 1965 mandate, as amended, as a means of delivering a quality continuum of support for older adults in the region, the Triangle J Area Agency on Aging (TJAAA) keep the focus on its partnership efforts. Our mission is that higher level of wellness of older adults in the seven-county region should be promoted by partnership with organizations to offer comprehensive services, a system of opportunities, and protective supports.
To maintain and expand the quality of life for our seniors, we have adopted a broad and flexible scope for our program. We offer assistance for seniors with the following needs:
- Need information,
- Need aids to remain in their homes,
- Desire the benefits provided by a certified multipurpose senior center,
- Stays in a long-term care facility.
Additionally, we are a resource center providing training support or offering assistance for caregivers or other family members.
Four-year Regional Area Plan on Aging has guided the TJAAA and supported by the Region J Advisory Council on Aging. TJAAA programs include:
- Family Caregiver Support Program
- Planning & Administration
- Regional Long Term Care Ombudsman Program
